The Secret and Your Body

By now, you have probably heard of "The Secret". The DVD documentary and book that talks about the Law of Attraction. It has been met with mixed reactions. I think many of the people who doubt if "The Secret" works is because they fail to understand a key component in how "The Secret" is applied. Action.

The key to "The Secret" is not just in visualizing what you want, but to take action in order to receive your wish. In the DVD, it states that the 'hows' of your wish manifesting are best left unknown, the Universe will take care of it. One needs to be reminded however, to act upon "inspired" ideas and thought - as this is the Universe guiding you to go where you need to be. In other words, if you wish to live a more fulfilling life you must go out and start living.

Take this idea and apply it to something such as weight loss (or getting a healthier body). 'The Secret" tells us not to focus on "losing weight", as this will attract more weight to be lost. Instead, you should focus upon your "perfect weight". Let's take a look at the process.

1) Ask. Become clear on the weight you want to be. Please note; you should consult a height-weight chart or your doctor - you aim is to become healthy after all. Focus on attaining a strong, healthy body.

2) Believe. You must believe that you will receive your wish. Imagine and act "as if" you already weigh your "perfect weight". Don't just visualize what you would look, feel or act at your "perfect weight", start acting as if you have already attained your "perfect weight".

Put up little reminders to help keep you focused on 'being' in a strong, healthy body. Tape your "perfect weight" to the readout of your scales, so every time you step on them you will weigh your "perfect weigh". Hang up pictures of yourself at your "perfect weight" - if you don't have any pictures of yourself at your perfect weight, create a 'virtual you' (see "Virtual Me.com")

Let me put it this way... If you were your "perfect weight" what would you do? Wouldn't you make maintaining my healthy weight a priority? So while you are visualizing your wish , do a workout of some description - even if it only starts off as a walk around the neighbourhood. You are taking action and moving yourself towards your goal.

3) Receive. You will find that as you start treating yourself "as if" you were already at your "perfect weight" you will begin to notice that you not only feel good but feel good about being you. As you think of yourself in this new positive light, you will attune yourself to the frequency of your "perfect weight", and summon it to you.

In other words, practice being the person you want to be all the time and you will find that before long you will have become that person.
